Meet Leo
Leo is a long-haired Chihuahua from Japan. He has a cream coat, dark round eyes and ears that seem a size too big for him. He sleeps under the duvet, stretches flat on cool floors and turns belly-up when he is happy.
He is our Chief Tail and the face on every chibitail parcel. Each product we choose has to pass one question first: would we give this to Leo?
Why "chibitail"
Chibi is a warm Japanese word for a little one, the kind of nickname you give a tiny dog. Leo is a chibi with a big fluffy tail, and our brand is about tails: made by tails, for tails.
Why we started
Leo's family has spent years working with factories in China for other brands: finding manufacturers, checking samples, negotiating prices and getting products shipped across the world.
Shopping for Leo, we kept running into the same problem. Pet products looked great in the photos, cost a lot, and then fell apart or sat in a corner untouched. We knew how products are made and checked, so we decided to use that for the animals we love.
How we choose a product
- We find the manufacturer ourselves and talk to them directly.
- We ask for battery, material and safety documents, and walk away when we do not get clear answers.
- We send samples to our tail testers, real pet families, and let their dogs and cats use them for several weeks.
- If a product fails at home, we take it out of the shop. Our first samples are being tested right now, and tester notes will appear on each product page as they come in.
Become a tail tester
We are looking for dogs and cats of every size and temper, and for their humans who will tell us the truth. You get a sample before it goes on sale. We get honest notes, photos and short videos from a real home.

A young brand, and honest about it
We are just starting. We don't have thousands of reviews, a big office or a warehouse full of stock. What we have is a short list of products we believe in, a real person who answers your email, and a small dog with very high standards.
